What You’ll Do
As a Medical Office Specialist, you’ll support daily front office operations and ensure a smooth, welcoming experience for every patient.
Answer and manage incoming phone calls, routing as needed
Schedule new and follow-up appointments accurately and efficiently
Greet, check in, and assist patients with professionalism and warmth
Verify and update patient information in the medical record
Collect co-pays and payments (in-person and by phone)
Set up payment plans in accordance with organizational policies
Serve as a liaison between patients and clinical staff
Support billing team with patient files and documentation
Perform other administrative duties as assigned
What You Bring
Required:
High School Diploma or equivalent
Strong computer and data entry skills
Ability to handle cash and perform basic math accurately
Excellent communication and customer service skills
High level of professionalism and confidentiality
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
Self-starter with the ability to work independently
Preferred:
Experience in a medical office, clinic, or hospital setting
Familiarity with medical terminology and insurance processes
Knowledge of Patient-Centered Medical Home (PCMH) or Meaningful Use standards
Physical Requirements
Ability to sit or stand for extended periods
Occasional bending, lifting, and reaching (up to 35 lbs)
Manual dexterity for operating office equipment (computer, phone, copier)
Adequate vision and hearing to perform job duties
